Rajkot, Gujarat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurated the two-day Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) in Rajkot today, Sunday, January 11, 2026. The historic city of Rajkot, often called the heart of Saurashtra, welcomed global business tycoons and industry leaders for this prestigious summit.
Among the top attendees was Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), who expressed his pride in attending the regional edition of the summit in the land of his ancestors.

Emphasizing the deep connection between his empire and the state, he added, "Reliance is a Gujarati company. Gujarat is our soul; Gujarat is our body."
Reliance to Double Investment: ₹7 Lakh Crore in 5 Years
In a major boost to the state's economy and industrial growth, Mukesh Ambani made a massive announcement regarding Reliance's future plans in Gujarat:
- Historical Investment: RIL has invested over ₹3.5 lakh crore in Gujarat in the last five years.
- Future Commitment: Ambani pledged to double this investment, announcing a fresh ₹7 lakh crore investment over the next five years.
- Economic Growth: This investment is expected to generate significant employment and infrastructure development across the state.
The conference, which continues tomorrow (January 12), serves as a platform for regional businesses to connect with global markets, further strengthening PM Modi’s vision of a 'Viksit Gujarat'.
