Bhuj, Kutch: In a historic first for the nation, a unique 'Joint Training' program for Armed Forces and Civil Services officers has commenced in Bhuj. The initiative aims to strengthen coordination between the military and district administration during wars or natural calamities.
Kutch Collector Anand Patel presided over a special meeting at the Collectorate, welcoming over 30 high-ranking officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Civil Services from across India. This program marks a significant step towards the 'Whole-of-Nation' approach to national security.
Civil-Military Fusion: Learning from Kutch
Bhuj was specifically chosen for this pioneer program following the success of 'Operation Sindhu.' During the training, officers were briefed on Kutch’s unique geographical challenges, including the Rann, the vast coastline, and border village dynamics. The exemplary synergy between Kutch’s administration and the Armed Forces during past operations served as a primary case study.

Key Objectives of the Training:
- Better Coordination: Enhancing teamwork between civil administration and military units during emergencies.
- Practical Learning: The program includes specialized lectures, tabletop exercises, and field visits to understand 'Civil-Military Fusion.'
- National Security: Improving disaster management and administrative efficiency in sensitive border regions.
The meeting saw the presence of distinguished officials, including Bharuch Collector Gaurang Makwana, DDO Utsav Gautam, SP (West Kutch) Vikas Sunda, and Group Captain R.K. Yadav, alongside several senior defense personnel.
