Rajkot : The first-ever 'Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference - Kutch and Saurashtra' concluded on a high note, attracting investment proposals worth a staggering ₹5.78 lakh crore. Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Jitu Vaghani announced that a total of 5,492 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the two-day summit held at Marwadi University.
Comparing this regional success to the first state-level Vibrant Gujarat Summit in 2003—which saw 80 MoUs worth ₹66,000 crore—Minister Vaghani highlighted how the investment landscape has grown exponentially under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Vision for 2047 and Regional Growth
The summit focused on a concrete plan to transform Kutch and Saurashtra into developed regions by 2047. Environment Minister Arjun Modhwadia emphasized that the entrepreneurial spirit is deeply rooted in the people of this region. He noted that the coastal belt of Porbandar, Dwarka, and Somnath is on its way to becoming the world's largest tourism hub.
Key Highlights of the Summit:
- Scaling Opportunities: Over 50 seminars, B2B, and B2G meetings provided a platform for young entrepreneurs to connect with global markets.
- Industry Integration: Industries Secretary Mamata Verma stated that the coordination between 'Scale and Skill' during the summit has opened new directions for the youth.
- Exhibition: While the conference has concluded, the industrial exhibition at the venue will remain open for the public until January 15.
The closing ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials including Hasmukh Adhia (Chief Advisor to the CM), Jayanti Ravi (ACS, Revenue), and several industry leaders from L&T and local chambers of commerce.
